November 2019 becomes a record breaking month for UMBC Event Center
By Jessica Stark
It was a November to remember here at UMBC Event Center with four concerts, six basketball games, and two volleyball games; making it the most successful month in UMBC Event Center's history.
Since opening in 2018, UMBC Event Center has hosted numerous concerts, sporting events and family shows, but nothing has compared to November 2019. Not only did the venue host the legendary Bob Dylan for a sold out show, but continued to sell out shows throughout the month, including Fantasia, Robin Thicke, and 2020 Grammy nominee's, for KING & COUNTRY.
The UMBC Event Center staff worked tirelessly to bring guests first class service and clocked a total of 2,358 labor hours throughout the month. Over 17,728 guests came through the event center doors to not only consume first class entertainment, but to enjoy the many food & beverage options available.
UMBC Event Center's food & beverage partner, Chartwells, reported selling a total of 7,203 beverages and 1,582 pretzels from their many concession stands throughout the venue. Chartwells Concessions Manager, Tim Graham, continued to capitalize on creative selling opportunities by providing a custom whiskey bar featuring Bob Dylan's, Heavens Door Whiskey, leading to the highest concessions sales numbers during any event in the venues history.
With another sold out show in December, a full schedule in January and more show announcements on the horizon, the venues future is bright. Thank you to all our team members and fans who made it happen!
