Accessible Seating

Accessible seating is located in sections 100, 105. 106, 107, 108

Alcoholic Beverages

For non-athletic and non-university events, Beer & Wine is available on the concourse.

Alcohol is only served in Retriever Room during basketball.

Federal Law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of twenty-one (21). Therefore, guests are required to show proper identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages at the UMBC Event Center. The number of alcoholic beverages served may be limited to two drinks per person, per purchase. Management reserves the right to refuse service to guests who appear intoxicated or who are disturbing other guests. We encourage guests to drink responsibly and not to drive after drinking.

Bag Policy

Bags no larger than 16"x16"x8” will be permitted into UMBC Event Center. Guests who have bags larger than this size will be asked to return them to their vehicles or discard them. This is in addition to the existing policy that all bags, purses or personal items of any size are subject to search. Diaper bags or Medical bags are allowed to exceed that size limit, but will be searched. This policy is subject to change based on a shows request.

Banners & Signs

Banners and signs are permitted as long as they do not block the view of others, interfere with the event, contain advertising of any form, present a safety hazard or contain political or obscene material. Banners may not be affixed with any type of material that is permanent in nature or that alters the facility in any manner. Poles and sticks are prohibited. Building management reserves the right to remove any banner or sign. Signs may also be prohibited, if requested by the event.

Cameras & Recording Devices

For most events, at the request of the artists and/or leagues, small point & shoot cameras are allowed. Professional cameras (specifically cameras with professional/detachable lenses and flash) are not permitted. The UMBC Event Center reserves the right to examine and prohibit the use of any camera that conflicts with the policy set by the event.
Audio recorders, video recorders and digital cameras with video capabilities are prohibited during all events.

Cancelled or Postponed Events

In the event a performance is cancelled or rescheduled, information is immediately sent to the local media for distribution and placed on the UMBC Event Center website. We will also send an email to the database of purchasers for that event, if we have contact information.

If an event is cancelled, refunds will be available at the original point of purchase. If the event is rescheduled, tickets purchased for the original date will be honored at the new date. In most cases, refunds will also be available at the original point of purchase up until the new date has passed.

*Fees and charges associated with the ticket purchase may be retained.
Tickets purchased with a credit card will be refunded to the original card used to purchase the tickets. The UMBC Event Center is not responsible for tickets purchased through unauthorized sources.

Children Ticket Policy

Children 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket to gain admission to select events. Child must sit on a guardians lap for the duration of the event. Please note there are select events where this age requirements varies. Please be sure to check the specific event listing for more details.

Emergency Evacuation

In the event of an emergency, please remain calm and walk to the nearest exit in an orderly fashion. Follow posted signs and listen to announcements for specific instructions. In some circumstances you will be directed to remain in the building and staff will direct you where to go. Please do not use elevator. If you are disabled, trained staff members will assist you in getting to safety.

Guest Services

The UMBC Event Center Guest Services is located at the main entrance, behind section 100/101. Guest Services provide guests a convenient location to obtain information, offer suggestions, voice concerns and request assistance during events.

Lost & Found

During an event, you may inquire about lost or found items at our Guest Services location behind section 100/101

Prohibited Items

Bottles or cans
Bags larger than 16"x16"x8”
Food coolers
Outside food/beverages (baby food permitted)
Pamphlets, product samples
Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, helmets, chairs
Laptop computers
2-way radios
Balloons, permanent markers, spray paint
Cameras: no flash/professional photography, tripods or monopods, gopros, or selfie sticks
Signs/Flags/Banners/Posters: may not be larger than 11" x 17" or attached to a pole/stick
Food, beverage, alcohol, cans, bottles, flasks, coolers, drugs, illegal substances
Weapons, pepper spray/mace, flares, fireworks
Frisbees and beach balls
Laser pointers
Any noise making devices (i.e. air horns, whistles, drums, plastic horns, etc.)
Illegal drugs and alcohol
Audio/Video recording devices
Weapons and dangerous devices of any kind
Any other items deemed unacceptable by Arena Management


For your safety, once a person exits the UMBC Event Center re-entry is strictly prohibited.
